Town of Holly Springs
Holly Springs, once a small one-stoplight town of 4,000 has certainly grown over the last 10 years! More noted now for being a bustling community of families, this town as retained its “small town feel” while growing to accommodate its newest residents. From busy soccer fields to new recreation facilities and a brand new branch of the Wake County Library System, this town is providing an abundance for its residents to enjoy. Only a short drive from the state capitol of Raleigh, this community is nestled just south of the Cary/Apex area and north of Fuquay-Varina. It still maintains a rural atmosphere, with wide open rolling hills and lush, undeveloped areas. It´s truly a special place to call home. Holly Springs has been informally called a “young Cary” (reminiscent of Cary in the early 1990’s) but the small town definitely has a different approach when it comes to projected future growth. With a controlled plan to balance the inevitable growth, Holly Springs offers a charming living environment that’s certainly coming into its own. Highway improvements, such as the new 55 bypass, are making the area more accessible to daily commuters, and the widening of US1 has opened up the corridor between Holly Springs and Cary quite nicely. With the future path of I-540 running near its northern edge, Holly Springs is poised to become as convenient a commute to Research Triangle Park as most of Cary. Ranked #3 in Forbes Magazine on the Top Ten List for Best Education in the U.S. Biggest Cities, Holly Springs now boasts of an education campus near Avent Ferry Road that accommodates a new high school, middle and elementary school. In addition to an honored school system, Holly Springs has a thriving recreational department with leisure, social and cultural activities for people of all ages. Town parades, egg hunts and July 4th fireworks are just a few events that residents can enjoy throughout the year.
